Children's Behavioral Medicine Collaborative partners with schools, counselors, and educators across the Puget Sound to support students whose learning, attention, or behavior raises questions the school setting cannot fully answer. We provide independent evaluations and consultation that give school teams and families clear, usable information.
Our evaluations often go further than a standard school assessment, examining areas such as memory, attention, executive functioning, and processing in greater detail to help explain why a student is struggling.
An independent evaluation gives a student, family, and school a thorough, outside picture of how the student learns and where support is needed. We administer evidence-based measures, examine the results against age expectations, and produce a written report with practical recommendations for the classroom and home.
While our reports inform decisions about accommodations and services, eligibility determinations for special education are made by the school district team. Our role is to give that team and the family clear, well-supported information to work from.
We regularly communicate with teachers, counselors, and district staff.With family consent, we can review records you provide, discuss findings, and help translate recommendations into classroom strategies.
If a school recommends a private evaluation, families can contact us directly. Children’s BMC is not contracted with insurance companies. We provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and pricing varies depending on time and complexity.
