Pediatric Diagnostic Consultation in Puget Sound

Our fellowship-trained pediatric neuropsychologists help you make sense of what your child needs. A consultation gives you a focused clinical opinion and a clear next step, so you are not guessing about which evaluation or support fits.

What Is A Diagnostic Consultation?

A diagnostic consultation is a focused meeting with one of our clinicians to review your concerns and determine the appropriate assessment or intervention for your child. It is the step that brings clarity before you commit to a full evaluation.

A consultation helps your family with:

  • Direction: Identifying whether a screening, a comprehensive evaluation, or therapy is the right path.
  • Clarity: A clear clinical opinion on the specific concern that brought you in.
  • Next Steps: Practical, immediate recommendations you can act on.

When A Consultation Can Help

Families often start with a consultation when they know something is going on but are unsure what kind of support fits. We offer focused clinical guidance for:

  • Uncertain Concerns: When attention, learning, behavior, or mood overlap and you are unsure which evaluation applies.
  • Outside Recommendations: When a pediatrician, teacher, or therapist has suggested testing and you want to weigh your options.
  • Second Opinions: When your child has been evaluated before and you want updated clinical input.
  • Deciding on Testing: When you want to know whether a comprehensive evaluation is warranted at all.

Whether you need a single answer or a roadmap, we help you take the right next step for your child.

How to Get Started

1. Call Us
2. Your First Appointment
3. Begin Care

A member of our team will talk with you about your child’s needs, help identify the right service, and answer any initial questions. No referral needed. Call us at (253) 256-3626 or email admin@childrensbmc.com.

We begin with an intake or consultation to understand your child’s history, gather information, and learn what matters most to you and your child. Bring any school evaluations, IEP/504 plans, past evaluations, or report cards you have – but if you don’t have anything, that’s fine too.

Whether you’re starting an evaluation, therapy, or a skills group, we guide you through each step and keep you updated throughout the process. We’re collaborative from day one – a partner in your child’s journey.
