Frequently Asked Questions

We provide services for children as young as 3 through college-aged young adults.

No. Families can contact us directly to schedule. Some insurance plans may require a referral for out-of-network reimbursement, so we recommend checking with your provider if that applies to you.

We are not contracted with insurance companies and are private pay. We provide superbills that families can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Some insurance plans will approve a benefit exception that reimburses at the in-network rate. We are happy to answer any cost-related questions during your initial call.

In many cases, yes. We often coordinate evaluation and therapy depending on your child’s needs. Our team will help you determine the right sequence.

Yes. Select services are available via telehealth for families anywhere in Washington State. In-person appointments are at our Tacoma office.

Keep it simple and positive. You might say: “We are going to see someone who helps us understand how your brain works, what you are really good at, and what feels hard right now.” Avoid framing it as a test with right and wrong answers. Most children do better once they understand there is nothing to prepare for.
